Tracking Implementation of IUCN Connectivity Resolutions

In 2020, IUCN members voted to approve two policy resolutions that provide a mandate for advancing connectivity conservation:

  • WCC-2020-Res-073 “Ecological connectivity conservation in the post-2020 global biodiversity framework: from local to international levels” (full text)
  • WCC-2020-Res-071 “Wildlife-friendly linear infrastructure” (full text)

In 2025, IUCN furthered this mandate by approving:

  • WCC-2025-Res-126 ““Recognising and Reporting Ecological Corridors” (full text)

Championed by many IUCN Members and the work of the Connectivity Conservation Specialist Group, these resolutions are guiding the Union’s work on this topic. The CCSG now serves as focal point for tracking related implementation activities around the world.

The Specialist Group invites all interested parties to access the below Google Forms and share examples of activities completed, planned, or underway that advance fulfillment of these resolutions.
