A new project, a collaboration between the IUCN WCPA Marine Connectivity Working Group and Mote Marine Laboratory, tracks international/regional meetings, major conferences and other events relevant for marine connectivity. The project’s purpose is twofold;

  1. to spread awareness of upcoming and past meetings relevant to marine ecological connectivity; and
  2. to spark and enable collaboration among MCWG members for advancing ecological connectivity science, practice, and policy at targeted events.

The tool includes international/regional meetings relevant for marine ecological connectivity arranged into an interactive table where members and partners can indicate attendance status. This will allow those attending to reach out to one another for event coordination or simply to connect. A section listing recent events and those main outputs of possible interest to MCWG members follows the primary meetings table. The living document will be regularly updated and disseminated monthly to MCWG members, with each update covering roughly the next six to eight months.

The lead for this project is Kyla Lucey, Law Student and Mote Intern, with guidance from Barbara Lausche (MCWG Chair), and Mary Collins, CCSG Secretariat staff supporting MCWG.

The MCWG hopes members and partners will find this initiative of value for your work in marine connectivity conservation. Click on the above link or image to access the document.
