Since first publication in July 2020, the IUCN Guidelines for conserving connectivity through ecological networks and corridors have been the focus of a number of completed and ongoing translation projects. CCSG is now glad to report that the Mongolian translation, including all 25 case studies, was released on 17 February 2022 during a launch event in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Participants of the event included representatives of the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism; Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs; Ministry of Road and Transport Development, Ulaanbaatar Railway Authority; Mongolian Railroad Authority; National University of Mongolia; Zoological Society of London; Environment and Tourism Agencies of Dornod and Dornogovi; and other environment-related agencies and non-governmental organizations.

Many compliments are to be paid to colleagues at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Mongolia, in cooperation with the IUCN Asia Regional Office, for providing their support and expertise to publish the Guidelines in a limited number of hard copies and for free global online distribution. People throughout Mongolia now have a leading resource for more consistently planning and implementing ecological corridors and linking ecological networks of protected and conserved areas across ecosystems.
